Everyday Autism Episode 1 with Dr. Robert Walter. Determining and Diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder

I recently conducted my very first recorded interview with my son’s pediatrician, Dr. Robert Walter, where we talked about determining and diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder. This moment feels big for me—not because I’m an expert (I am absolutely not), but because I know how powerful it is to share where our journey began.

Research shows that early identification and diagnosis of autism can make a meaningful difference—helping children access supports and therapies that build communication, social, and daily living skills over time. But that process can feel overwhelming, confusing, and different for every family.

This is hopefully just the beginning of more conversations, more learning, and more honest insight into the everyday realities of autism—for both individuals and caregivers.
